Houston VAMC

Today I visited my local VA hospital for my annual checkup.  I was dreading this visit as my assigned Primary Care Doctor historically has not been very receptive to my conditions or concerns.  Discussed with the hospital patient advocate and I have been now assigned a new PC.  He was very easy to talk to and very receptive.  He is a MD from one of the nearby hospitals, which is a plus.  He asked all the right questions and I feel very positive about him and his care.  The moral of the story, which I found out later, if you are unhappy with the care or the PC assigned to you at the VA, find your patient advocate and express your concerns.  Can't fix something that they don't know is broken.
